She has never sought advice regarding her pension planning and retirement options and is now looking for the best way forward.
“I’m going to be honest, I’ve always found the wealth of information surrounding pensions either a) confusing or b) boring! Planning for retirement has always seemed like something that I would get round to eventually. As I moved employers I generally did what I was advised by their HR departments in terms of contributions to my pension, and I never placed enough importance on seeking advice. Of course the inevitable happened – my 50’s crept up on me all too quickly, and I found myself unable to ignore my responsibility to myself and my family to make sure I would be financially stable in retirement any longer. I then had several pensions with no idea how to make them work in the best way for me.
I asked a friend for a recommendation and she pointed me in the direction of PDB. One of the main reasons I’ve loved dealing with them, is that they take the time to explain to me the complicated parts – they don’t use jargon, and answer every question succinctly – no matter how silly I perceive the question to be! Its been a very straightforward process from fact-find through to being updated on my pension’s performance at my reviews. I now feel like I have someone on my side, who places as much importance on securing my future as I do. I’ve been delighted with the performance of my portfolio, and knowing that it is managed for me gives me peace of mind.”
The value of pensions and investments and the income they produce can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you invested.
